Cakewalk sounds louder then cubase 5

Hi i always used cakewalk up to nr 9 now i also use cubase for the softsynth but why is that the midisamples i use with the ews64xl sounds louder and better with cakewalk then with cubase5????? ?t's the same card!? Also sometimes no midi playback with cubase unless you rewind and playback the whole song again instead of the piece you are editing. Is the ews not capable of listening to midi commands from cubase? Or is cakewalk simply better when using midi. I still use cakewalk for making my drumsections and so on and then port it to cubase. Someone have any answer?

"No MIDI-out" problem sounds like Cubase (or song) for some reason puts MIDI-out volume to zero when stopping the song. When you start playing your song from start MIDI-reset signal is sended and it resets MIDI volume (and other controllers) to default.
